Meet Veronica
Veronica Townsend is the managing attorney and sole owner of House of Townsend, P.A. She is a proud, lifelong Sussex Countian whose family has lived here for generations.
She graduated from the University of Delaware with her Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, where she was a member of the All-Girl Cheerleading Squad, the Honors Program, Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, and even spent a semester abroad in Australia and New Zealand. She went on to attend Elon University School of Law in Greensboro, North Carolina where she graduated in an accelerated program, was Student Bar Association President, allowing her to speak at both a New Student Convocation and her own Class of 2017 Graduation, Membership Editor of the Elon Law Review, traveled with the North Carolina Bar Association to Haiti for an educational conference with the Port-au-Prince Bar Association, and spent a semester in residency with the Elon Law Small Business & Entrepreneurship Clinic.
Veronica spent the summer of 2017 as a law clerk at the firm, at that time, The Law Office of Susan Pittard Weidman, P.A., where she gained a love of small firm practice, serving clients with transactional law, and pairing together her love of the community and helping its people with problem solving and advocating. Upon graduating early from law school, Veronica passed both the Maryland and Delaware bar exams. In 2022, Veronica took over the firm as sole owner and sole attorney, where she handles real estate settlements, estate planning, estate administration and forming business entities.
Veronica greatly enjoys being a part of the local business community and being as involved as possible to make the area that raised her a better place for present and future generations. She is a co-founding member of the Professionals in Pink networking group for female professionals in the coastal Delaware and Maryland areas, is a Young Founder with the Fund for Women at the Delaware Community Foundation, serves on the Pyle Center Board of Trustees, is the Judge’s Chair for the Distinguished Young Women of Delaware Program, Southern Sussex Rotary Club member, and more.
She also loves using her voice to give presentations on her legal subject matter of expertise to the local community to educate them in an accessible, comfortable way. She has appeared on Delaware based podcasts to discuss her professional and personal stories, and now is enjoying her time reaching more of the public on social media to both inform her clients and to bring them a bit of joy, too.
Veronica is a devoted lover of fashion and loves the creative outlet for self-expression, and when she’s not chasing the thrill of shopping for designer items on consignment, she is riding the emotional rollercoaster that is being a Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan, taking pilates classes, playing tennis, riding her beach cruiser bike, catching up with all things Bravo TV, traveling, singing karaoke, and filling her cup by spending time with her incredible family and friends until it overflows with fulfillment.
Veronica’s zest for life and love for southern Delaware and its people resonates in her practice of the law, where she enjoys serving her local community by offering her legal skills, as well as her positive attitude, to her clients. Veronica has known who she was at a very young age and truly feels as though she is living out what she was called to do – using her voice to represent others, support them, advocate for their needs, and help them achieve and accomplish their goals.
